Introduction to LinuxGeneral Background |
![]() |
This set of web pages contain the (slightly edited) set of OpenOffice.org Impress Slides I used for a talk to the NEAST General Interest Group (GIG) of the Melbourne PC User Group on 23rd August 2005.
This presentation was primarily intended to give a general overview to NEAST GIG members who were not familiar with Linux and who wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
The content reflects my own experiences as a Linux user of some 5 years, and is not intended to be definitive, but rather a general guide for further exploration.
In other words, treat the opinions herein as a guide, not gospel, particularly the section on suggested distributions.
It may be of interest to note that both these web pages and the original presentation were prepared using Linux application software.
